The problem with evolution is it isn't a thing. It's a way of interpretating the changes in properties of similar things over time. It's kind of like asking if rainbows are scientific-- there's red--there's blue-- but there's no arbitrary point at which you can say, "See, red has changed into blue."

However, denying evolution is kind of like denying that the samples on a CD represent analog sound. They are a DESCRIPTION of the sound, and the science that goes into reading and writing CDs, making new agorithms for encoding and decoding represented waves, etc., is fine.

So much wrong in one post it is hard to know where to begin.
I will just start with the notions that atheists feel threatened when intelligent design is brought up.
What we tend to feel is annoyed at that tripe being trotted out all the time.

Humiliation? The word you are looking for is annoyed. Annoyed in the same manner as an adult confronted by a four year old's reason for staying up late to watch R rated movies while gorging on ice cream and coffee.
