Bahai vs. Islam

So how can there be a similar holy book for Baha'is?

Are you now arguing that Bahaullah was just making shit up? If so, I agree.

Better just to admit that he wrote down the content of his supposed revelations, regardless of literary stylings, and that they are considered Baha'i canon than to try and dance around the fact.

A really androgynous person gave me a USB a few days ago.

Angels are genderless/sexless.

I could start a religion with whatever's on that USB now...

Cato, I think so. I think Bahaullah made it up.

But as for the Quran and Bible, it is difficult to say who actually wrote them. The Bible was composed over time by many different people, and so was The Quran likely. At the least we know variant copies were burned.

But it accepts every major religion is correct, does it not?

What does atheism have anything to do with physics?

Think about it. Saying all religions are true is not any different from saying all religions are false.

How can opposite beliefs all be one?

Secondly, I said atheist of physics (and origins of the universe) to distinguish it from a-morality if theism=morality.

Some people equate "theism" with morality, which I agree is wrong anyway.

No. Not even close. They think their religion is the one true religion. They also seem to have a habit of claiming other peoples god concepts for their own while simultaneously asserting superiority. They're just "nice" about it. Or, at least, they think they are.

Well, the system of "progressive revelation" just so HAPPENS to work in favor of the Baha'i Faith. Just like every other Abrahamic religion, they accept previous religions as mostly harmless while overriding them. Tongue
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?

Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

Yeah, in the same way Christians consider Abraham and Moses as subservient to Jesus, and Muslims consider Abraham and Moses and Jesus to have been Muslims like Muhammad who's incomplete books were superceded by the perfection of the Quran.

Baha'i writings consider the founders of all religions to actually be progressive founders of really one religion, the Bahai Faith, with a latest/last Manifestation named Bahaullah.

The Bab has said that one word of Bahaullah supercedes all Books revealed by the Bab and previous Figures.

Now how does one **rationalize** this given the widely varied practices and beliefs of "religions" (which to Baha'is are not religions but one religion)?

The word "progressive" does not necessarily mean that they as on top of each other like multiplication adds on top of addition . Maybe "progressive" has an evolutionary connotation, as in the random variations in composition lead to a best composition lasting while a poorer or less efficient composition naturally falls behind and ultimately dies off.

The Baha'i creed is based on the Babi creed which had the most violent rules of any religion in the world. According to Abdu'l-Baha who was man number two of Baha'ism, the rules of the Bab in his book called Bayan were like this:

“The utterance of the [book or religion] of Bayan in the day of the appearance of his Highness A`la (meaning the Bab) was to behead, burn the books, destroy the monuments, and massacre [everyone] but those who believed [in the Bāb’s religion] and verified it,” (`Abdu’l-Baha, Makatib, vol. 2, p. 266)

Baha'u'llah, man number one of Baha'ism had stated regarding the laws of the Bayan (naturally meaning the aforementioned too) that:
" I [swear by] He who in His hand is my soul and my essence, a single letter from the Bayan is dearer to me than everything that is in the heavens and the earth,” Asad-Allah Fadil Mazandarani, Asrar al-athar khusuṣi, vol. 5, p. 333"

The Baha'is do not want you to know about these quotes and have thus refrained from translating them into English. But the guys here have done the world a favor and have translated those quotes from original Arabic and Farsi Baha'i books to English:

The followers of the Bab were very violent and started civil wars in Persia. The Persians King wanted the Bab executed but the clerics ruled against it because after seeing the Bab's laws and speaking with him, they reached the conclusion that he was a retard and could not be executed. Anyways, the King finally got him executed because he could no longer tolerate the Civil wars. The followers of the Bab who were pissed by his execution, attempted to assasinate the Persian King but failed. Baha'i man number one, Baha'u'llah, was accused of collaborating with the assassinators and was imprisoned and put on death row. The Russian Ambassador whose country was at that time in a state of conflict/war with Persia and would have benefited by these folks collaborating against the state and inciting civil war, pressured the Persians to release Baha'u'llah from prison and the Baha'u'llah guy owes his life to the Russians. After being freed, he didn't stop his mischievous acts and was exiled to Baghdad then to Akka where he like, his predecessor the Bab, claimed that he was God and created a new religion.

logicalreason, I really don't get you, man. You said that every supernatural event is claimed to be allegorical, or metaphorical, in the Writings. This is clearly not true, since the Writings specifically state that the Virgin Birth of Jesus took place.

I wish you would stop spreading your incorrect theories about the Faith, which go against everything that Baha'is have taught since Baha'u'llah.

If you want to be an atheist, fine, be an atheist. But let the Faith alone. Stop trying to claim your own beliefs are those of Baha'u'llah, when His Writings clearly contradict your statements.
