Since I'm closer to be considered a gnostic atheist I voted for no god and no supernatural. The choices are poorly defined though

I can't pick between number 1 and 4. Define supernatural.
All the options seem off to me, can't vote

The only definition of atheist that fits me is the question of gods has never been a factor in my life. I appraise theist claims in light of what I already know and can research, and whatever remains of them stands or falls on its own. Then I have breakfast.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

My problem is not that I can't pick. It's that I choose not to, because you have completely fucked up every single definition. Thinking too much may be a problem for you, but I assure you doing so has never posed an issue for me. I have a lot of practice at thinking. You should try it. Your officious assumptions are aggravating.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

There doesn't appear to be any agreement regarding what constitutes a god. Some are said to have omni powers, for others less is claimed. I find the concept of god
incoherent, which may explain problem with your categories. Do you feel compelled to form a belief regarding every claim you ever hear, no matter how incoherent they may be? I don't. |
