What shall we do with the gods?

When I was playing a video game I noticed that many of the characters were inspired by mythological creatures, gods, aeons and spirits. It then hit me, is this what the gods of ancient cults have been 'reduced' to. Just fictional characters for media portrayals.

Since many of the gods in religion are proven to be merely works of fiction this means that we will have numerous names and characters floating around. Non existent fictional beings that have no basis in reality. Considering that the fastest growing religious position as of now is the lack of religion(non-theism and open theism).

What do you think should be done with this gods and supernatural beings? Do you think society should spam the hell out of them in entertainment? I sure as hell do.
Considering the surge in Greek Mythological movies we have had some years ago with releases like Clash of the Titans and The Immortals. It seems just as likely we will get the same for Christian stories and already have been with movies like Noah and Exodus.

None of the old gods have been disproven because none were ever proven!
This includes the new cesspool of gods doing the rounds currently.

Religion is like fashion. Superficial people put their investments in superficial fads.
