What do you say to say to a Drunk interested?

RE: What do you say to say to a Drunk interested?
Engaging an obnoxious drunk is an exercise in futility. You can continue telling him about your beliefs. Which I assumed from the OP was not an option you were interested in. You can ignore him. Which probably is not going to shut him up any time soon. You can tell him to fuck off. In which case I suggest you have a plan to kill him. Or you can walk away.

All those are valid options. I can't deny them. But none of them reconcile the problem with conversation. Not that I asked that be a requirement of suggestion in my post.

But it is the solution I seek.

I very much thank you for you input, and suspect it will be echoed. Many have a macho streak on the internet but you didn't parrot that. Kudos.

I still don't really have anything but the vaguest idea of this situation but a bottom line for me would be to never follow a girl no matter how much you like her to a party you don't want to be at. And if she's the kind of girl who loves going to these parties are you going to keep going to these events and continually be questioned?
I might have got the wrong idea about what's going on in this situation but I'm guessing because you're asking for advice about this that it isn't easily brushed away by just telling this drunk guy you don't want to talk so much about your beliefs. I personally like telling people about my beliefs so this wouldn't be a problem for me.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

People have been giving you sound advice given the constraints in the OP, but you seem hell bent on reasoning with a drunk. Reasoning with a drunk isn't possible so your only option is physical separation; you leave or get the drunk to leave. You don't want to leave and are too timid to confront the drunk. What precisely are you doing and where are you doing it that you can't get the proprietor, owner, policeman, etc. to intervene on your behalf?

In short, you can't reason with a drunk so your options are to leave, confront the drunk, or get someone else to confront the drunk on your behalf.

Would that whole scenario, in short and the wider post, you illustrate not mirror the atheist and the christian in America today? Or on this Forum?

No. Despite the difference in beliefs, it takes a very special case for either to be equivalent to your drunk. Most people will reach an impasse and quit the conversation or find something else to discuss. Not only is it unreasonable to tag one side with the drunk label, it is equally false to make the other side extremely timid in a non-escape scenario. If there are particular cases where one side could reasonably take on the characteristics of a drunk in your scenario, the artificial constraints you place on the other don't typically exists; he/she will leave or tell the drunk to fuck off.

But regardless and impasse is reached? As in in the drunk or not the two arguers are left walking away?

If so that's my problem with the approach... nothing is solved.

1. Violence is prohibited as an answer, as I am small and weak.
2. Condescending and obvious rudeness is prohibited as it may lead to point One.
3. Flight is prohibited as I am there with a pretty girl and do not wish to leave her.
4. Reason is not prohibited but allowed but should expect wild generalities.

Any interested parties are welcome to this discussion. This is my first attempt at starting a thread and wanted to make it something I'd had personal experience with. There fore the "I" is Me in the above statements, while you can't be "Me" I would ask that you substitute yourself for "Me" as if you were bound by the 4 items above.

However if you cannot, as I have no right to hold you to not being yourself, feel free to share your own reactions and perhaps I can learn something from them. But if you are dictating as "I" please hold your actions to the 4 items above, otherwise say "So-and-so would...". So I can keep it strait.

Thank you all who participate.

I don't think there is a way round this, (speaking as someone who has drank too much on far too many occasions) drunk people can be completely irrational (I feel like I'm starting the obvious here) so there is no easy way out and possibly nothing you can say.

My advice, don't argue with drunk people or learn self defence if you want to argue with them.

I admire your honesty and hail it! The drunk is irrational, my notion is what is the difference with the drunk and the believer? both are irrational but one may become violent? Only one?

I think both could be and don't think I'd need evidence to back that thought.

So how do you talk to one without incurring violence? My endeavor was to peruse the argument under a guise. But I should have know for I am not clever. So my foolishness has been found-out and all I hoped for is for nothing.

I do thank you for visiting this post. I'm sorry if you felt I deceived you. I apologies.

My advice would be to swiftly switch it to patriotism by saying "Fortunately in this country I can have whatever belief I want about god!" Then deflect his attempts to continue the belief path with patriotism talk. The thing about patriotism,
It's hard to have a long conversation about it.
