Can one be Atheist and Superstitious?

RE: Can one be Atheist and Superstitious?
I think you grow out of superstitions; maybe you grow out of religion too, if you were ever that way inclined.

Sometimes it's not really superstitious: walking under ladders is not a smart thing to do...

Maybe religiosity is the sticky residue of superstitions that didn't drain away cleanly.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You see, is this kind of disagreement

what makes me question the atheists churches. And as you can imagine I made a thread to aboard that topic.

http://atheistforums.org/thread-27458.html

But all I got from that thread was a bunch of false accusations and unanswered questions. However I did talked to a moderator about this kind of stuff and not also he agreed with me, but also said that if I ever keep receiving this kind of treatment in the future is not me that's gonna be banned but instead the ones who will be banned are two users(who's name I won't mention) who constantly leave me talking and appear to focus on disagreeing without giving me a reason. Which it kinda makes me feel relieved because these two persons constantly claim that they are gonna report me and therefor cause my banning. But it's nice and comforting knowing that the moderatos are impartial and not only disagree with them but they agree that not only I'm being aggravated but that the ones who should reconsider their talk are my aggravators.

So now I'm gonna plant my feet and like Insanity I'm gonna say that no atheists can't be religious. And if anyone want's to disagree with me he or she can always contact me via private message and discuss this topic with me. Because I'm not gonna start discussing this again only to be left talking.

This is what happens when we try to put labels on things.
Just like there's a million definitions of what god is, there's also just as many on what god isn't!

And since there's no god anyway, we're fighting over "nothing".
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

Same thing happens in linguistics.

Everything else is up for grabs as far as atheism goes; and no other determination can be drawn from identifying with such. To that end, you will find atheists who believe in ghosts, UFOs, the antivax movement, that NASA and Kubrick staged the Moon landings, etc etc etc...

As long as the god hypothesis isn't the issue, atheism isn't a factor.

Wrong!

God factor will always come into play when it comes to UFO's/Ghosts/ or even moon landing.

I'll give you an example:
If you believe in ghosts, then you are not an atheist because you believe humans have a soul and an afterlife. Therefore intelligent design exists, because a spirit is energy that once encompassed the biological body.

If you believe in UFO's then the topic that the Annunaki seeded humanity comes into play. If the Annunaki manipulated our DNA then they are our gods by definition. Not the GOD who created them, but our gods (lowercase).

Moon Landing - If you believe it was staged because they are trying to hide that a prior civilization built bases on there, then you lean towards the concept of intelligent design again where someone created humans and Darwinism is a hoax.

To me atheism is the equivelent to extremist muslim/christian. It is the extremist belief in SKEPTICISM of everything and anything. Science is GOD, spirituality is SATAN and one should never believe in spirituality.

I have an Atheist friend who seems to truly believe that he gets more customers than anyone else, no matter what day or shift.
If he changed jobs he would believe his new job gets busier all of a sudden.

If only I could tap that magical power and have a team of people with his bad luck status, I could make millions.

I just couldn't work in that team myself because I'm one of those people that gets all the easy days. :-)

Apprently god died according to atheists. So we need to replace him with a mortal god. Usually a dictator like in the past.
