For me that was my personal turning point back to Christianity. You found the exaltation of ignorance by an obvious and threadbare excuse - explicitly acknowledging that this shit doesn't make sense......a reason to go back? Now -that- puts shame to my pride, as a member of the same species. GG god. Who is it you worship again? Loki? I find it rather humorous that I upset some of you because I was honest about why I believe (note: "my personal turning point"). I get that most if not all of you are firm atheist, obviously I'm not trying to "convert" or whatever. But if you are simply poking fun at me, then I'm sorry I read too seriously. With all due respect, I've met a lot of intelligent and ignorant people both religious and non-religious. I've graduated from college, so if you're implying I'm a generally stupid person I would argue that I don't know everything, but I'm not void of knowledge all together.
It's obvious that you're not that stupid

But I'm sure you will agree that even intelligent people with a lot of knowledge may have poor critical thinking skills with regards to their faith based beliefs. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. |
