Well...Have To Give Him This One.
I sure as fuck wouldn't die for his fairy tales.

Quote:Bryan Fischer, the director of Issues Analysis for the fundamentalist American Family Association (AFA), asserted this week that atheists should not be permitted to serve in the U.S. military because they wouldn’t not be willing to die for God.

Muslim terrorists will die for god, too. They have a lot in common with xtian fuckheads like Fisher....except they do it not just talk about it.

By all means, die for god. Just don't take any atheists with you.

Perhaps it should be mandatory for the likes of Fischer to serve in the military and spend a tour in a combat zone.

What's that, Bryan? You have an illness and couldn't possibly serve in the military?

Convenient how that happens for your ilk, isn't it?

The military officer core is one of the most Evangelical organizations I know.

I have served my country, and anyone should be able to serve. The need for religion is moronic and small minded. I will say this is one of the bad things about US Military. In some units, I would never state that I was an atheist for fear of my military career.

Again, I no longer server, so I am good.

Our nation does not need to be guarded by religious fundamentals. I'm not sure how they can look at theocratic nations, and say they want to be like that.

I'm tempted to say feel free to put these kinds of people on the front lines in an effort to weed them out of our society. I should feel wrong about that, but sometimes you just need to let them get themselves killed so there are more resources to go around for the reasonable people.

They envy the control that religion gives them.

That has to be it. One theocracy is as bad as another, except for the people in charge. Much like dictatorships and such.

Isn't the whole issue settled at the moment the atheist says "I'd like to join the military"? I'm sure they understand the risks. They're clearly willing to die for the cause or country.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

So they acknowledge that both sides are killing for their god!
Michael, you're a smart level headed person, tell me again why I should be religious!

The quicker we dispell this "god" delusion, the better and safer for all.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)
