[split] 9/11 Conspiracy
#21
RE: [split] 9/11 Conspiracy
Do I think Al qaeda did the attacks?

Yes I do.

Because.

A: The evidence leads in that direction.
B: They had carried out attacks before.
C: They had a motive.
D: They had the means.
E: They said they did.

To the people who say it looked like a controlled demolition, I urge you to research just how much work and time would be needed to do this, and remember both towers were still fully functional until that day.

I'm sure a large team of demolition experts drilling holes into the walls and filling them with TNT would have gleaned some comment. Not to mention the miles of fuse wire that would have been needed. Far too much to just 'run under the carpet'.

Besides I seem to remember seeing a plane crash into one of the towers, now I think would do it.

And the reason Al Quaeda did it, Americas support of Israel.

Over to you Pippy

I am pretty sure that this so called "al Queda" is either funded and controlled by the intelligence community, or is fully comprised of the same. But just this morning, a new audio tape of Osama taking credit for the (I still can't beleive I am saying this) underpants bomber. We had better keep cowed, we never know when, and in what garment they may strike next.

That was almost funny in a cliche kind of way.

LOL! So your 'evidence' is simply what ever Google search terms confirm your pre-existing opinion?

That isn't how we do things on this site Pippy. You of all people should know that by now. If you want to participate in a discussion, you back up your assertions with evidence.

Telling people to "just do a Google search" is a pathetic attempt to weasel out of presenting such evidence. You cannot trust everything Google gives you. Heck, Google returns results for thousands of debunked pages of 9/11 Truther propaganda. They don't contain a shred of actual evidence in them; they are all hearsay, and yet Google has them in search results.

This is the internet. People post whatever they want on it, regardless of whether it is true or not. This is why references are so important, why the original documents and testimonies must be found, and why sites like Wikipedia are so accurate. Mass editing has been demonstrated to be similar to the process of natural selection. Bad information is weeded out, good information is kept in. I'm not saying you have to trust everything Wikipedia says, but look and read the references and you'll be fine. More experts contribute to Wikipedia than any other resource on the planet.

Remember when I bitched at you about not providing sources? That hasn't changed. You want to convince us, then you provide the sources. Back up your claims, or we will dismiss them as easily as you spew them out.

Damn right Eil Smile

Pippy: We have better things to do than check your facts.

I'm confused as to why someone so convinced that we are all being manipulated by an elitist conspiracy would go to so little effort to sufficiently justify their position? Do you not take this whole thing seriously pip? I know if it was me i would be looking to build the most convincing and well referenced argument i could muster to further my cause.

RE: [split] 9/11 Conspiracy
Wouldn't a conspiracy theory not be a conspiracy theory if there were hard fact to back it up?

I think I have a healthy view that people generally have the propensity for dishonesty. I'm suspicious of people senior to me in my workplace and take clues from what I hear and see to predict their actions. A lot of times I'm proven right. Same goes for the local and national government. I know very well most of what they feed us is bullshit, and I read between the lines to work out the truth. It helps when your in a position to see the lies first hand (like I did working in a school and seeing what lies were fed the governors and politicians), and only serves to support your stance of general suspicion.
