Might foster more schisms though ?

More schisms would mean more intramural bloodshed and a weakened face of Islam to the world.

Imagine a Muslim Joe Smith writing another holy book augmenting the Koran and muddying up things enough to trigger another 100 schisms.

IF only universities had been founded by secular powers instead of the fucking church.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_university

Quote:The first institutions generally considered to be universities were established in Italy, France, Spain and England in the late 11th and the 12th centuries for the study of Theology, Law, Medicine, and Arts.[1] These universities evolved from much older Christian cathedral schools and monastic schools, and it is difficult to define the date at which they became true universities,

We needed a lot less study of fucking "theology" and a little more science and engineering.

I'm surprised by many of the responses. Mostly looking to history for reasoning... my feeling is that's wrong. My feeling is also that muslims don't have a directive from the Qur'an to adopt a 'head' other than mohammed. So won't.

If they did, it would inevitably cause internal violence, but I'm thinking maybe as much as I hate violence, internal is marginally better that trying to tke over the world?

The only true answer id education, but that needs to be accepted, afforded, and deliverable... so probably not unfortunately.
In my opinion that is !

Um,

Internal Moslemic violence is quite desirable. Pyrrhic victories for all their internal strife and schism is the prize in our eyes.

No. Because I thought that, and figured if I condoned any sort of violence, it would elicit outrage, and you should consider the innocent parties.. you can't say death and violence is just for waring muslims... innocent muslims deserve the same respect for life that you do !!

Not liking your post vorlon.

If their thugs, sociopaths, depraved sadists, and cold blooded killers are all busy Darwinizing themselves, what's the problem ???

Ok well I suspect you mean "internal" to mean amongst the extremists and hardliners, whereas I think it means within the muslim groups, be they minority western, or majority states. But ultimately it will lead to civil war and 'cleansing' on a shia/salafi/sunni i.e. tribal level, with the victims being mainly the moderates.

What do you mean with moslem-moderates, moslem-suni/shia/salafi ?
Actually, all those above moslems group (Sunni, Shia) is VERY general moslem. But, inside them, there are some extremists. And for Salafi, it's not a moslem group, it's one of some Islam's knowledge - method that teach to have pure Shariaa of Islam (NOT an extrimist). Actually, even shia is consider as a heretic groups. So aside from Sunni, consider as heretic.

Biggest Islam Problem is Moslems itself.
Too many extremists that they thought they enforced shariaa of Islam (law of islam) but in fact they kinda tarnished sharia of islam and most of times they're exaggerating some rules of Islam. That's it

Well I stand corrected on the detail, but I don't want violence per denomination... although violence amongst agreeable jihadists wouldn't bother me. I just don't want to see innocent people destroyed in the name of anything
