Indeed Aoi Magi, I mean I wished we could understand it as much as we do computers. They seem to function similar and different all the same. Psychiatry is like someone who has no idea how to do any networking put into a server and storage array environment and somehow keep it functioning.

There is a saying that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and when someone says that psychiatry is a sham, or if somebody tells you that psychiatry will cure you, you should be reminded of that saying.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I took Seroquel for years, it worked wonders for me, but I gained so much weight. I had a break about a year ago and my new doc put me on geodone. It is not as good as seroquel so I really have to work on staying present and mindfullness, but I have lost almost 100 pounds over the past year!
Good luck to you, it is tough regardless of what meds we are on

Thanks for the info, I noticed it has some mean side affects, but I suppose they all do, but I'll have a talk with my doctor about it, thanks again.

The worst of it for me was the cognitive impairment and weight gain. I took 300mg at night and I was impaired usually until the next evening. Not to mention the 100 lbs I put on in a year that I'm struggling to get rid of. I'm glad it works for you.

I take 400mg ay night and 300mg through the day, I always have to keep an eye on my weight also, I eat a good diet, mainly vegetarian, I think that helps. When I do put weight on, I imagine its someone else growing in me, this is also why I keep an eye on my weight.

Come on! Admit it, the mentally ill and depressed just want to be that way. They should just stop trying to get attention and cheer up.

It kills me that some people still view psychology and psychiatry as fake or 'soft sciences.' That is ridiculous in my opinion, but I suppose everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and ideas. Is psychiatry exactly what it should be in contemporary society? Probably not. However that is, in my opinion, more so to blame because of the way our society (I am speaking as someone from the US) is in general. Everything is for prophet in today's world. That doesn't mean that would should blame psychiatry itself, but more so the structure of society and possibly the people who most directly affect that structure.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll
