There was in recent past both TTA and AF and if people needed a breather from one place, they popped on over to the other place. No big deal. Having two forums is nothing new and it allows us to influence things through the choices we make. It's a good thing. Having two very active forums (and a handful of less active forums) also sends a message to people out there who are thinking of leaving religion that this is a safe option that many have made before them and there will be support and friendship to help them along their journey.

I've been lurking and watching events unfold, but I'm a relative stranger to AF so I've been trying to keep my thoughts to myself as much as possible. I hope the people who choose to leave one forum for any other forum will not slam the door behind them. Who knows what the future holds? Keep your options open and go where it makes you happy to go. Post wherever you enjoy the conversation and the company -post in multiple places if that's to your liking- but don't leave out of spite and anger.

That's fair, but you also know those members are waiting to see how things get worked out here. If the other forum is providing a friendlier atmosphere than the one here then I don't see those members returning. Just take a look through their introductions thread and read what some have said about the atmosphere here. Their complaints are the same as those of the former members who left here before the civility section was started.

We have been working on it, suffice to say I have ideas that need to be better put together, with the help of my fellow staff. I am using VIM. Takes time and cool heads. It's my birthday, and I am a little tipsy, hence not the time for that.

At least you are sticking to your "guns". A quality in my view.

We don't take users for granted and people are free to go wherever they wish, AD was created before this situation and they have any support they can from the staff here, like cooperation against cyber attacks, cross forum spam, those things that do harm at the website level, much like we did with TTA. About users migrating.... none of our business, as nobody is forced to like this "bar" if they prefer another "bar".
