Catholic Lady, I don’t mean to offend you, but I think that’s enough excuses and context for the rest of us. He hasn’t even apologized for any of it. When I messaged him to tell him that telling Jack she stabbed him in the back was crossing another line, he ignored me. If he had something to say, he can say it his fucking self. Maybe defend her from him instead of him from us?

Also, you said you’d said all you had to say. The continued effort to rally people to his side doesn’t sound at all like someone who isn’t trying to excuse his behavior.

He is a witty and intelligent person. The severe depression combined with a lot of alcohol makes him say things he doesn't truly mean, things that the real Stimbo who is thinking clearly wouldn't have said.

Bullshit. Nothing that he said could ever be out into any sort of context that could be deemed acceptable. Ever. The fact that you still try to find good in him makes me worry. He will not get help. He will not accept true responsibility for his words. He will continue to blame others and excuse away his behavior because there is something wrong with him. As long as he knows people will offer him pity and attention, he will milk a sob story for all he can. He's been told dozens of times to move on and get help after Sam died.

I remember how many people went to bat trying to help him when he threatened to kill himself. It was scary and many people, myself included, were worried sick. It was all a ruse to get attention. He. Doesn't.Want.To. Get. Better. Do you understand that?

He has sunk to a low. So low that he actually considered raping an innocent woman. You should be angry about that. Stop trying to appeal to his decent side. He has no decent side.

That forum moderators involve themselves in personal issues suggests they may be emotionally involved. This does not a good moderator make.

ANY issues should be raised behind the scenes, if only as a ‘recorded for posterity’ thread. All moderators should be clear on how decisions are made and what they should do to find out what to do about something.

If there are multiple members, which there should be in a reasonably active forum, then new or contentious issues should be discussed and – if a clear agreement can’t be reached – voted on.
