I searched the forum for any mention of mandlebrot. Considering Adrian's penchant for math I would have figured the subject of fractals and the mandlebrot set would have come up. Anyway:

There are several versions of mandlebrot explorers available on the web that allow you to choose your own locations to zoom into, they are pretty fun to play around with. Julia sets are pretty cool too.

I had Mandelbrot generators on my Z80. Sure it took well over 20 hours for a complex part to calculate but they are hardly new. One of my first programs I made in pascal was a Pythagoras tree, where you could input the level of branches.

And the best thing is that those images are generated using the simplest rules.

Makes a mockery of the Cretinists( sorry, Creationists) constant misuse of the

2nd law of thermodynamics to prove that systems can't get more complex.
