We have a few democrats so politically correct here that they've forgotten what freedom of speech means. They've also forgotten what price controls lead to: shortages.
I'm fiscally conservative. Mostly free market. And socially libertarian. Oh, and a dove. I don't belong to any party.
Bullshit, all you are saying with "get government out of my wallet" is that you don't mind others compensating by paying more in taxes for the less taxes you dont pay yourself.
It is basically selfishness "fuck you I got mine"
It is OUR government and YOU do not get to decide what we pay in taxes. We DOES NOT mean only when you get what you want.
Rich people do not need tax cuts. They sell idiots like you that fucking line then tax you more to pay for what they they dont. And what they dont raise in your taxes they cut in medicare and social security and other benefits that WE pay taxes for.
Idiots like you do not understand the real welfare queens are the rich. You and I subsidize them.
When you can formulate your argument without being insulting, perhaps you'll garner audience.
Until then you'll remain a lonely internet voice, shouting at the clouds and thinking yourself important.
Seriously, Brian -- you've been this way at least a few years, on at least two other forums that I've seen, and the only thing your polemics do is harm your own cause. How is it that you don't understand that your presentation harms your message? Are you so purblind you don't understand that not only do insults shut down discussion, they say more about you than those you insult?
You chase away the audience you're trying to hit, with your gauche style.

I didn't vote because it makes zero fucking difference.

This, and I'll add that as soon as there's choices worth voting for, I'll start voting again. I'll not legitimize the system by participating in it.

In California, I voted all Democrats (odd, since I am proudly independent). As far as the issues, I voted yes on all of them except Prop 48, the indian gaming issue.
I will say that every single time, despite my best (at that time) efforts, there's always something on the ballot that catches me offguard, like voting for judges and community college district seats.

I got everything I voted for or against except the Indian Casino. I've always seen casinos as the least we could do to compensate them for all the land we stole.

To a degree (and I'm not exactly sure what that degree is). But part of me has a real problem with giving certain races an extra shove. It just often seems like it doesn't help much.

In my case there was no traffic at this intersection. It was completely safe. I looked both ways and everything. No cop would have noticed. But the Orwellian creep cam sure did.
