Just now on Twitter I blocked a fellow liberal atheist. I can handle the cussing and blasphemy. I have been called immoral and scum and equated to Hitler and Stalin. Fine, comes with living in a free society.

But here is where anyone needs to stop. Believer or atheist when you say words like "Die you(insert label here)" I do not care if that is coming from a believer or an atheist. Direct threats or implied threats are never acceptable from anyone in a civil society.

I do not like religion as being a claim that has any pragmatic use beyond a personal desire. I do not like any claim of any type of polytheistic god or monotheistic god because there simply is no evidence for anyone of those.

Having said that, even atheists need to realize that we will NOT set up a godless utopia ourselves. We still are all the same species and I will not tolerate even atheists going beyond words and blasphemy and implying threats. If we rightfully say that religion is not the center of the planet or universe then we cannot act or talk in the same manor via direct threats or implied threats.

Rights are still paramount in a civil society and that includes others political and religious rights even if I think they are full of crap. No one has to like me or only say nice things about me. But skip the threats, no one deserves to be threatened.

I try to stay away from personal threats. I will bash Yahweh and Jesus, the bible, and all that, but I try not to insult or threaten people personally. Though I'm sure some people take it personally when someone bashes their religion, or "personal relationship" with their god.

Um no you completely missed the point of the op. Unlike theists I do not consider myself the center of the planet or universe. The point was to theists who think we atheists are unfair and single out one religion. Atheist can and do take on each other as well. That is what I mean when I say I don't give atheists a pass either.

The point is you do not give any group of any label, be it political, religious or business a pass. Anything left to it's own devices without question can and will go off the rails if given too much power. It was a statement of the importance of the ability to question and that means everyone and each other. But in doing that all bitch without making direct threats or implied threats of physical violence. It is called civility.
