Doesn't really matter. Naval vessels are more than capable of delivering missile strikes and air power hundreds of miles inland. An aircraft carrier is one helluva mobile platform.

Virtually everything the US has is.
But the rest of the world is hoping the US military budget shrinks. New Zealand and Finland are simply waiting for our moment in history when the US has merely 4-5 times the effective fighting power of the rest of the world, then we're going to swoop down like a wolf on the fold and pick your bones clean. Mwa ha ha.
