Not always. Somethimes punishment can be administered to criminal in order to keep a bad person out of society, hence prisons.

So you would be OK with living with these monsters forever?
You would be happy to share your intimate fellowship and most precious things with people who despised you, everything you stand for (uncompromisingly) and hate you?

Eternal punishment is a deterrent and thus does encourage correct behavior....just not in the person being punished.

Also it is logically possible for a finite amount of punishment to last for any length of time...including infinite lengths of time.

This explains your economic views as well.

He made them, and he can't possibly have a problem with the actions that make those men so hated. I don't know how well monsters get along with one another, not being one or worshiping one.

I don't see where there's a lot of incongruity. God's got something major in common with all those men. It's only on the details where they differ.

Heaven and hell isn't about places where good and bad people go. It's about saying what Yahweh wants to hear. This is why I doubt Hitler is even in hell. He was a catholic. He worshiped Jesus and Yahweh He might be called least in heaven for committing suicide, but I doubt he'd be in hell. Either way he's more likely to be in heaven than Anne Frank, because she probably didn't believe in Jesus.
