I recall an incident some years ago where a woman's house was picketed (no violence or vandalism, though) with people carrying signs reading 'GAYS OUT!!'
Word had gotten round that the woman was a thespian.

The only time you have the right to get violent with someone is in self defense in the moment, even then if the person is smaller than you you are supposed to back off when you get the drop on them. Outside that we are not the Taliban so we do not need a society that convicts on opinion or public punishments.
One thing about America I do hate is how everyone back in the 70s ran with the Dirty Harry meme and since ended up with Nancy Grace. It isnt about one case, it is about eroding not just the rights of the accused, but the rights of the innocent.
