Meanwhile the misunderstanding of atheism is often theists saying that atheists are Satanist... Also if any of you are really that interested in learning about Satanism, check out the Church of Satan website (first, and most obvious result in google).

The only point in naming your beliefs after an undesirable biblical character is a desire to attract attention.

You ignore that I'm not the one that came up with the religion. Also there are actual reasons for calling it Satanism decides pissing off Christians (which it seems to be doing so well at right now) one of which is that Satan in the biblical sense actually does represent all of the so called sins (which are definitely not sins to Satanism) along with individuality and knowledge. But the real point is I'M NOT THE ONE WHO CODIFIED THE RELIGION.

Do satanists believe in satan?

But why officially follow it? Even if it aligns with your values why not just live free from religion?

The answer is to attract attention and more specifically, negative attention.

No, quit trying to put words in my mouth. The answer is to have a label that I can use to say it instead of contently having to go into a long explanation to explain what I'm referring to. btw Most Satanist arn't even publicly Satanist. So how about you quit assuming things and trying to attack someone for a stupid WORD. If you don't agree with my label then FUCK OFF because I am what I am, and I'll call myself what I want, just because you have a problem with it and want to whine about it to your mommy and dada doesn't mean its my problem. and before you even try to justify attacking me for a stupid word, I'll just point out that I could completely turn this around onto any theist, deist, or atheist.

Whatever you say troll. Calling names and trying to stereotype sounds a bit like attacking to me but to each their own I guess. Too bad your opinion sounds like an assertion.

This is the sort of conversation that makes me think The Screwtape Letters was a good book.

Elskidor? Do you want company on the sock buying expedition?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Any "vs" is going to end up this way, this is just how people are. I continued in the style set up for me because its more fun that way. Honestly I know that there is almost a zero percent chance of anyone even actually reading what I say, I just talk for the fun of seeing the reactions I can get out of it.

(bold mine)

Not that I necessarily think you have adopted the label for attention, but don't you think this thread alone is enough proof that you still need to go into a long explanation, label or no label?
