You know, I heard that Ayn Rand once attempted to write a novel called "The Little Street" inspired by her days as a murder-groupie to William Hickman; a phase that may have had an instrumental effect on Objectivism.

It's a shame that this wasn't the novel that's going to be released. And why haven't any of the novels in the Salinger archives been released yet?

If I need something to cure my insomnia.............I still won't read an Ayn Rand book. I'm fairly Libertarian (although not of the retarded variety that spends waay too much time on the internet writing shitty Atlas Shrugged fan fic and jerking off to the idea of Ron Paul performing a gynecology examine.) I don't know how anyone can think that it's good literature. Ayn Rand promoted self interest, but it's in no ones self interest to try to read something so shitty that even she didn't want to publish it in her life.

And yet, Atlas Shrugged is allegedly the second best-selling book in the States, after the Bible. While that says nothing about the truth claims made in either badly-written tome, it does speak for the popularity and mass appeal of both of these fictional morality tales.

I am left of centre but I have read Atlas Shrugged. It's not the finest of literature. The kinky torture scenes with John Galt really are something though. lol.

It should not be released. It should serve it's full sentence for it's crimes against intelligence. It is a danger to the population at large, and as such should be incarcerated indefinitely.

No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people.

Where'd you get the figure for "second best-selling" in the US, anyway? I'd imagine Lord of the Rings has it beat by a long shot.
