RE: Would you eat your own placenta?
I'd have to be pretty hungry. And a woman.

Oh, I thought by "own placenta" he meant the one that supplied myself when I was an fetus.

Oh... Well I'm not sure if anyone kept that for me. I'll drop my mum an email. If I get hungry.

In which case the answer would probably be "I would've if I could've". Fucking newborns are machines, not picky...definitely nothing approaching a human being - they remain animals for years and will, much later - with at least some conditioning and knowledge of "icky" -still- eat poop and any other thing that might fit in their mouths. I bet that if you delivered in a room with a toddler on the floor.......the toddler would at least give the placenta a taste test if no one was paying enough attention to stop it. I think the only difference between a toddler and a newborn in this regard is opportunity.

Yeah sure, just fry it on up with some diced veggies and stuff it into a burrito. Maybe even toss a testicle in there for good measure.

I remember when I was like 15 and had my first internet access, I logged onto some usenet news group on philosophy, and because I wanted to be edgy I started a thread "if one could grow human meat in the lab, would you eat it" or some such. The reactions were mostly "go away, troll" or worse. Sigh, those were the days... to be young again, and an idiot...

Well, I'll have a look in the freezer, but I expect my placenta might be just a tad past its 'use by' date by now.

Still, if it's a choice between that or the Pop Tarts, I'd take the chance.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Is it crockpottable?

There are a lot of things in Chinese medicine which seem to be held to be true mainly out of the lack of guts to call out long held traditions.

If alternative medicine worked, it would just be called medicine.

The thing that really pisses me off is the use of Ivory. Elephants are being hunted to extinction because of some bullshit superstition about Ivory cleansing you or some shit.
