Would you eat your own placenta?
|
Story I heard from England whe I was a lot younger.
A woman gave birth and her mother in law fried up the placenta with onions and the whole family sat down and ate it. I think I'd be asking for extra onions, lots and lots of extra onions. If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
Well it's my wife's own fault if a predator finds her placentas and tracks it back to her, just because she didn't feel like eating it. There's only so much I can do for her and our child, you know.

So for the possibility of one improved jerk off before the monitor it is judged worthwhile to advance by a Sizeable distance a species' journey towards oblivion. Also, despite incipient modernity, it appears traditional medicine is still held in something like awe by many in China, where asking for proof of efficacy demonstrates a lack of faith that would in itself anger the gods of traditional medicine and deprive one of the ineffable but unmeasurable benefits of traditional medicine.
If probably eat a placenta if it were cooked properly.
I always found it a bit odd to kill an animal for something that will grow back. Especially if you know anything about genetics.

No, it would be a bit old now.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)
No... if someone one day manages to completely fix nature's fuckups: I will not be the one to eat my transplanted placenta. Thing's a damn hero... it's wrong to eat one's heroes.

As weird as it sounds, eating your newborn's placenta is actually a thing among some women who give birth at home.
http://health.usnews.com/health-news/hea...r-placenta Quote:Home birth midwife Claudia Booker can convert your placenta into vitamin-sized pills by the time you leave the hospital after giving birth. She also can distill it into an alcohol-based solution for you to take in drop form, or give you a piece to blend into a smoothie. On occasion, moms will request to eat silver-dollar sized pieces of their placenta right after labor. No, I would not eat my newborn's placenta because I don't see the need. During pregnancy, I took my prenatal vitamins and iron pills. Quote:Daniel Roshan, an OB-GYN at NYU Langone Medical Center's Rosh Maternal-Fetal Medicine, says he has no conflict with his patients wanting to take placenta pills, though he does warn them that there are no clinical trials or scientific research to back their effectiveness. Advocates of the practice like to point out that most mammals eat their placenta, but Roshan counters that mammals eat a lot of things humans do not. My dog thinks that cat poop is the equivalent to caviar. When my son visits, we have to put our trashcan on the counter because my dog can not resist the allure of dirty diapers. I don't plan on copying my dog's gastronomical adventures anytime soon just because she is a mammal http://www.babycentre.co.uk/l1051310/how...acenta#/10 Because I love you guys and gals, the link above takes you to a site that shows you photos of a woman washing, steaming, baking and eating her placenta.
