If I was a republican't (holy shit did I just type that?) I would vote for Rand Paul. With his stance on legalizing marijuana, he will get some of the younger vote that typically goes to the dems.

If Rand Paul is nominated I might drag my politically apathetic ass off the couch and vote for him. I can't vote for Hillary and certainly can't vote for Jeb Bush because they are warmongers. They favor a policy that kills thousands of people. If the Democrats somehow nominated a genuine Jimmy Carter style dove I might consider voting for him. Of course that's even less likely to happen than Rand getting the nomination. We have two parties of war and torture. Hell, even warmaniac McCain was at least against torture. Sorry to keep you waiting... but it was Christmas and New Years and I wanted to spend all my free time with my family and friends....so I checked out of the forum for a couple of weeks.

Or to put it in a more rational way. He ensured that people had health insurance so that ill health wouldn't destroy them.

This is seen as joining with the rest of the western world.

It's still not ideal and what you really need is a tax to supply universal health coverage but you'd never get that past the republicans, who are just the political arm of businesses.

There is a reason that America spends more per head of population for less of a service than the rest of the world and that is because you are a country run by business for business and have been for decades, you can't expect one president to reverse that in two terms especially when everything has been opposed by the corporate shills that are the GOP.

Obama has achieved more good things in his terms than could reasonably have been expected of him.

But still some people don't like him for some unknown reason.
