Teen suicide

My wife just showed me an article in the Daily Mail about a 14 year old christian girl who committed suicide. She did this because she was gay, and couldn't handle telling her parents. She felt such shame about not being what a Christian is "meant to be" that she took her own life.

Religion makes me sick to my core.

I really don't know what to say, I'm disgusted. Dogmatic ideologies are what will bring us to our destruction.

At least it's good that she wasn't sent to conversion therapy.

It makes me sick that people are driven to suicide because they're indoctrinated to view their nature as evil.

But if their environment wouldn't brand their nature as sick, it wouldn't come to this guilt complex in the first place.

That is very true still many christians act with compassion towards others who are gay as they themselves sin. Yes people should feel this guilt but they shouldn't need to bottle it up as everyone sins, therefore everyone should be understanding.

See, the problem is, that you don't even mean that to be judgmental. You're probably a good person, but what you believe is abysmal.

Yea I think I got confusing in my wording, what I meant to say was that the teen that committed suicide should have never needed to feel that way because everyone else (includi g her parents) continually sin.
