Yeah. Deep down, they must realize that none of this holds up to any sort of reason. Otherwise they wouldn't avoid or subvert said reason.

There are no justifications and deep down most people know it, they just try really hard not to think about it. The word "faith" is perhaps the most damaging ever, in this context, giving the ultimate cop out.

I tend to put forward the "would this argument stand up in a court of law" objection. Would you be happy to be convicted of murder, based on the strength of the argument you have presented? "You can't prove you didn't murder him, so you did. Case closed. *Whack*"

Welcome

I married into a rural churchgoing community.
Though I've heard horror stories on the internet, I've never been shunned, banned, or otherwise put upon by that community.
I think it may be because they are Swedish/German/Lutheran/Minnesota Nice and would be embarrassed to be shown emotional enough to disagree.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh
