Defending Young-Earth Creationism Scientifically
#41
RE: Defending Young-Earth Creationism Scientifically
I did the tectonic shift argument when I was on the xtian forum. The answer, much cut, was "God magic"

And that's the real problem with all of these arguments. The Bible is claimed to be inerrant, but not exhaustive. If God decided to play tetris with the tectonic plates under the flood waters, it would have been within his power to do so. If you accept that God is happy to override natural laws when it suits him, then objections based on those natural laws are just silly!

Be like this.
Xtian. "planes can fly"
Atheist. "planes don't exist. They are claimed to move across oceans, how could they get across the ocean without sinking? That proves planes are impossible!"
Xtian "exactly! That they do cross oceans is evidence they can fly!"

Does that make sense? To the xtian the impossibility of yec is evidence FOR God. To the Atheist, against.
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."

I agree completely, though I don't exactly understand your plane analogy.

Then it perfectly represents a theist argument Wink
