Surely something like this has happened before, I doubt the same type of headlines would be used though, for example "Black man shoots white police officer without being charged or arrested." Especially not when they know the names of both police officer and shooter.
The closest thing that comes to mind is tupac shakur shooting police officers, except he was charged but the charges were dropped.

That's a crazy story, one of the craziest parts being that Sentinel, Oklahoma has a black police chief.

ETA: Never feed humans to wild animals, humans have too much crap in their systems. Not good for carnivores.

So the police kicked in the door to this residence (I assume the door opened into a living room/dining room area and not to a bedroom), cleared one bedroom, and the Chief was shot in a second bedroom . . . but the shooter didn't know they were cops? And the investigators bought this story? Give me a fucking break.
I don't know that one can make any sweeping generalizations about race relations based on this incident, but I have a hard time believing that a black shooter, residing in a home from which a bomb threat was allegedly phoned in, would be treated with such inane credulity by the investigators, regardless of the race of the police chief. Who headed that investigation, Barney Fife?
