This isn't some lost secret......also, he has a shit pull for pussy shooters using a target bow. Tongue
(Hand him something in the range of 100lbs+ and see how much of this stuff becomes a joke. -especially his draw....fucking armdraw, jesus....that man couldn't even twist my cams back at 70lbs.)

Still......he's pretty good for what he does, lol.

Party pooper. The pull did cross my mind. I remember trying to pull my redneck buddies 200lb compound bow, which I could only do once with some time and contortion haha But isn't 55-70 common? I think Lars was using 55 at some point.

Well I'm sure that Rhythm will post a video soon about how he can do the same thing as Lars, except with a stronger bow. I eagerly await such a video. Big Grin

LOL, I wish I could trick shoot /w a bow. I'd be a hit at redneck swoirees. Then again, I bring the bacon...so I'm a hit at redneck swoiress.

Let me rephrase. His targets are styrofoam, he fires from 10y, and his bow is 50 lbs or less (likely less with that snap and drop, 40ish) - and we have no idea how many takes any given shot required. I value my life too much to try this with a buck or a boar in front of me, at any range...let alone another human being who wants to chop me in half and drink from my skull. If you had on so much as a leather jacket, this guy would be the least of your worries with these shots. They're impressive shots, he's a legit shooter....but ultimately it's archery for the camera.

That's why the narrator grinds on me so damned much. There's simply no way that anyone using an asiatic recurve, warbow, or longbow could usefully employ any of these shots or techniques. The gear doesn't allow for it - same as a modern compound bow doesn't allow for it, you need a full body draw. I could show you some shots....lol..but I don;t know if you'd find them as impressive as they are gruesome. I shoot an 80lb compound with 32 inches of draw, barb tips with a spool of highest attached to my counter for that good snag and tug. Bigger hole, more blood to sniff out, quicker death/shock. I'm an ambusher though, in some thick ass woods. So I pick power and accuracy out of the trifecta whereas he takes speed and accuracy.
(the barbs face forward in flight, wrapped with a tiny little rubber band which rolls back as the point enters spreading the 3 blades out to just under 4 1/2 inches in width. I need the power for penetration and takedown - but also to haul the weight of the point and test behind, my bow would whiff a flight arrow sideways as it loosed, the nock would leave the bow at a slightly faster speed than the tip...and that shit is terrifying)

@Exian
Sure, 50-75lbs is the standard for hunting compounds, the cams bring the effective weight way up. You hand your GF/kid the 50, you take the 75. A stick like his, just to hunt deer, would need to be 75lbs minimum. With his snap he's probably pulling 15-20lbs of a well worked 40lb bow. Put it another way, if I want to target shoot, I take a .22lr, if I want to kill something, I take a 270 or better. The gear and task is a huge portion of what he's doing...and the narration is complete and utter bullshit. He simply could not do what he does with gear suited for killing, and that's why he doesn't use that sort of gear (though he did switch bows for his distance shot......that was a recurve, not a stick). He could get more accuracy if he reversed his hand in the draw (he still holds just like he was taught on a recurve)- but then he couldn't hold the arrows without running the risk of sticking himself and also loosing speed in the nock. The whole thing is very specific and has nothing to do with any "ancient secrets" or warriors - couldn't even hunt.

Thanks wolverin man, but it's not the same. Wolverine would still kill you.

Ok, Rhythm, Lars vs. Legolas. Who wins in just like a tavern scenario? Who kills who?
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

Kind of a useless skill, innit?

Well, you could hunt animals with a bow.

But where I live, they have these things called 'markets'. I'm sure the very impressive Mr. Anderson has them as well.

And I'm sure that if everyone stopped hunting deer, your markets wouldn't have any deer meat. It's not our fault if you're not enough of a man to go out and hunt your own deer, and prepare your own meat. you need someone else to do it, like a child.

I've likely killed and dressed more animals that you've had hot dinners. But unless it is done at need, hunting is a foolish way for a grown man to spend his time.

And where I live, venison is farm raised.

The most 'exotic' meat we've ever had round here was ostrich, back when foot and mouth was all the rage. Pretty sure it wasn't hunted though. I never even got to try it; when I went to buy some, cow was back on the menu so all the ostrich had gone.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
