Lars Anderson makes Legolas look like a...

RE: Lars Anderson makes Legolas look like a...
Yup. Dogs are probably the closest contenders, particularly in circumstances where the environment provides substantial ambient cooling. Think sled dogs (but we can run them to death as well, just takes longer). Of course, dogs are more likely to be chasing something -with us- rather than chasing us, or being chased by us...really is a match made in heaven. They've got the sprint and the power, and we've got the soul crushing know-you're-going-to-end-up-as-dinner-no-matter-how-hard-you-push stamina. Not even an issue of pro athletes either. The average human could run down anything but a dog (and most likely a dog as well, it's a wash at optimum versus average). A runner would be on anything within the span of a single day. Might be why so many animals bed down tight when they see us, they already know better. Mauling us isn't exactly a safe proposition either...we have awfully dirty mouths with a ragged bite pattern......lol. Win the scuffle and the prize is an agonizing and short life, layed low by infection and parasites, but also by our seething hatred for any animal that's ever killed another human being.

(there are still some tribes that hunt gazelle this way...I used to have a link to some awesome footage, ill crawl around for it)

I'm taking Legolas in the duel btw, it's cinema either way and Legolas doesn't look like a douche when he hops around. I guess it would depend on the cameraman and post, eh?

You think doing parkour while shooting is a bit much?

I think the arrow is going to get there fast enough on it's own, no need to run it down, lol.

Lol, I watched this with the mute on, didn't hear the narration...

He seems the most uncoordinated person on the planet with a phenomenal skill. Reminds me of the Star Wars kid video. Helplessly geeky and awkward to watch.

That said this guy has a cool skill, but I wonder if it's like those amazing basketball trick shots, we only see the successful takes.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Pretty sad acrobatics. He needs some practice without the bow, cuz he is not earning style points by jumping over 6-inch obstacles and such, is he? Tongue

I have seen better parkour in other videos, to say the least. But they weren't quick shoting with a bow, either.

Bet he clinches his hole every time he lets loose, for real-sies. Legolas doesn't, obviously. Round 1, Legolas.

I will retract my earlier comment that the video blows my mind, if you stop being such a meanie to the poor guy.

lol, I was actually serious, I bet he does. That jerky motion and apparent lack of coordination is anything but. He needs to reduce any extraneous movement to pull off instinctual snaps like that. If he sighed, he'd miss. If he focused on his jumps, or anything (even the shots) he'd miss. That's how a snap works, he scrunches his body up for a half a second or so and -plink, plink, plink-. I'm no good at it, personally, he's pretty badass. Takes me alot of time to shoot, I even walk the field and lay markers for range. Willing to bet he;d beat my ass in a standard archery tournament as well. He's been a target shooter his whole life. You hear about him on archery forums every few years.
