That actually sort of makes sense, from a religious standpoint. When you go to the bible, demons are everywhere and jesus is casting them out on every page. If you're going to believe that is the word of god, it's no different to think that the sex abuse is caused by demonic posession.

The really strange thing is this recent alliance between faith and reason. Most priests don't really even believe in demons, in the meaningful sense. I really think reason kills faith, and when I see all these christians being so secular, I'm dissapointed they don't just make an honest choice between religion and no religion.

I'm not too sure it proves anything. I asked if the experience were repeatable and universal. I've experienced psychedelic drugs and their effects, and the 'experience' is usually personal and can be easily dismissed as 'brain static'. Most of the time. Whether the experience comes from inside, or outside, makes no difference to its validity as an 'experience', God may well be within as without, and you cannot use science to prove otherwise. Therefore it is the effects that should be considered, not the physical process.
