Does everything have an explanation? Well, certainly we don't have an explanation for everything today, though we have more and better explanations than we used to. Will we ever have an explanation for everything? Maybe not. Singularities will probably prevent total explanation.
Does everything have a cause? If you mean an explainable cause, see above. Otherwise, I'm not so sure that everything does have a cause. There's an infinite regression problem with everything having a cause. The religious solve that by inserting god or calling a first mover god. But then god or the first mover doesn't have a cause, so god isn't a solution.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

You forgot that God doesn't need an explanation. He's the band aide for when philosophy gets hard. Suck it, Aristotle!

2) of those things, a cause is a rudimentary part of any explanatory theory and it too is subject to being shown false.
That's why I'm skeptical of arguments from the best explanation used to support the existence of a god. The point that an explanation can be wrong is lost on apologists.

Whatchoo got?!! Nothin!
That just goes to show they don't care to give reliable explanations for anything. It is all just a set up for their pet conclusions and doctrines.

Ugh. Giant red signature is an offense to forum decency. Especially when it's a half-assed truthy statement. Why have you decided that your personal bit of life inspiration needs to take up 30% of my fucking screen?
