Lucid Dreaming

I've had dreams in which I remember previous dream as history. It gets very convoluted, but I'm really enjoying it.

I've had dreams where I remember previous dreams that I realize weren't actually previous dreams when I wake up.

And these are some of the more coherent dreams I have...

My dreams as of now are now like well are coming in on episodic forms then again it would make sense since
i was walking GOT and playing the game and other RPGs.

I used to keep a dream journal...and then I was able to have lucid dreams.

I learned this about lucid dreaming:

Step 1: knowing you are dreaming.
Step 2: being able to control your actions in the dream.
Step 3: looking at your own hands in the dream. I don't remember why, but there was something about this being really advanced. I did it one time.

I think I need to start keeping a dream journal, again. Thanks for the inspiration.

That is the hardest part and the ultimate goal. Instead of looking for your hands, try to pick something up. That will accomplish the same thing and it is somewhat easier.

I have had dreams when I was young where it seemed I realized I was dreaming. I decided to do mental stuff, as it wouldn't matter. I tried to get run over, but no matter what I did the cars unrealistically dodged all around me.

A lucid dream was my reason for going to music school. I woke up in a dream, realized I was dreaming, and decided "I want to conduct a massive orchestra." So I flew up into the clouds and assembled an orchestra of thousands-- 10 grand pianos banging away, hundreds of violins, a choir of a thousand, etc. After I woke up, I could still hear the music playing, and I knew it was my own, and it was good. So I woke my Dad up at 5:00am and announced that I was a musical genius.

The problem was I had very little musical training. I had to practice piano about 8 hours/day for 9 months to get into a good music university. But that one single dream inspired me so much that I was able to practice until my fingers blistered. Also, my father was proud to tell his friends that I broke the piano not once but twice in those 9 months from practicing so much.

The reason is that strangely, a lucid dream feels MORE real than reality, because you aren't limited by your senses, by your stamina, or by your health. You are limited only by your power of imagination.

Lucid dreams are pretty tricky to control for me cause when I get them, I find that it is being influenced by realworld stuff around me through my senses. For example I see a cat meowing, then turning into a electric beast of some kind, then narrating the sports results i missed last night. I try changing stations which sadly doesn't work, I know I am dreaming by that point, so i can get up, walk around but the scenery around me changes randomly, and I don't seem to have control over that. I try to pat the cat, and weirdly enough I can feel it. So I get confused again whether I am dreaming or not...

When I woke up, turns out my cat was sleeping on top of me, and the sound from the TV in the next room affected the other bits of my dream...
