You know what he meant is the point. Question his point if you don't understand.

Agreed. And the folks should be educated on the matter.

Prove it.

Quote:but I know who I am and I'm entitled to my rage. Hypocritical as you may judge it to be.

Rage on.

No. It was not. My contention is morality is subjective. If it is acceptable and within that societies moral guidelines that girls get married at 12 then it is a morally accptable practice. It is not "WRONG" simply because it is not acceptable by YOUR moral standards.

Quote:Maybe you should demonstrate a little compassion for the voiceless children? Bought and sold? Abused and impregnated at an early age with no choice in the matter? By men three times their age? Get F***in real.

I agree. I don't like it. It is 'wrong' IMO based on MY moral constructs. My morality says sex with a 16 year old is 'wrong'. It's my contention she would be physically matured but far from 'grown-up' psycologically. My personal morality does not change with my geographical location. Am I justified in labeling the societies I find myself in "wrong" because their collective morality differs from mine?

Proof is your department, as in the atheist/theist debate.
You are justified in declaring as wrong that which your heart tells you is wrong. In my opinion. Anywhere. I offer as proof the guy who exposed persecution of children as witches in Africa. He made a difference. Your attitude could never.

Even if he would prefer a change... it shouldn't matter to you. Smile

You're right, but it does. I don't like to cause offence unintentionally. Avatars are used to make a statement. Prefer that mine makes none. At the moment.
