I don't like conflict much either,but seldom refrain from expressing an opinion for fear of giving offence. There are far worse things than upsetting others (shooting them in head over a parking space for example)

@padraic... Me too. We get tooo much, too often, though. Use about a gallon of wd40 a year on my bike. Can you get near water? It's not far from the Lake District here. And the Irish Sea. Political correctness dictates we have to be VERY careful about who WE offend these days. This country is F*****.

My city,Adelaide is on the South Coast of Australia. My suburb is about a 35 minute drive to my favourite beach. The city of Adelaide is built on a river, the Torrens. The CBD is a 20 minute drive from here. (90 minutes by public transport) ,

As for fresh water: we are still under stage 4 water restrictions.That means we are allowed up to 7 hours garden watering a week,hand held spray hoses only. I recently received a $150 government rebate for replacing my WC with one with a smaller water capacity. We also get rebates for installing rainwater tanks My car gets washed about twice a year,using two buckets of water..

What a beautiful beach, ours are a lot different in winter. That kid's got a t-shirt on! I read Bill Brysons book a while ago too, so I can appreciate Adelaides beauty. Built by immigrants, formal, structured and considerate development etc. Thanks for that Padraic. Hope the desalination plant comes on ok.
