I'm glad you found a sucker....er, I mean "volunteer."
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Just out of sheer curiosity and definitely not because I am planning to take over the site... what are the criteria for choosing new staff members?

Here's how the process works - * if someone is leaving staff, they often give a recommendation that we consider. * current staff members throw a name or three each in for consideration. * we debate the nominees and narrow the list to the best-supported * it goes up for a vote, which continues until there is a majority consensus of voters Everyone has their own ideas of who would make a good mod. I'll share some of my criteria. * very established as a regular - say at least 9 months to a year with regular posting. * broadly liked and respected within the community * fair-minded and not afraid to give an opinion * would fit in with the rest of the staff |
