I don't believe you.  Where's the evidence?

Hey Christians, it's not killing sperm babies if you learn to wet dream. That's gawd's natural way of having abortions.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

It's a sad fact that people do often think like this, especially men. Some people don't masturbate though. Some people are anorgasmic, have never even achieved an orgasm and so masturbation does nothing for them. Some people are also asexual and lack a sex drive so don't feel the need to masturbate. It's difficult for people to imagine. It's like not even being hungry.

Hmm, it seems like I've dated a lot of those anorgasmic women!  Huh

Masturbation is all Politically Correct today yet you still can't do it in public and the morality of secular humanism still endorses keeping it strictly private. Why? A privacy norm for masturbation is just as arbitrary as outright prohibition. A lot of what I see on threads like this is easy, comfortable sniping at religious or moral positions one doesn't like, in an environment of groupthink. In common with some other posts here, I doubt Christian opinion unanimously bans masturbation, which is never mentioned directly in the New Testament: It's a matter of how phrases describing sexual behavior in Greek koine are to be interpreted and what some pastor or bishop thinks about it.

I might think you should be able to have a sexual orgy with 30 people on a downtown sidewalk at noon if you want to. If we're about "freedom" and all that. At least legally. We could let informal social acceptance or lack thereof govern such matters.

Umm...because there are kids in public(among other reasons)?

I'd have thought that one was painfully obvious.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

...
There are some public awareness campaigns to reduce the taboos on masturbation. I had some links, but I think they might be a bit too risqué. You can google.

RE: Christianity and Masturbation
Your sexual actions in the privacy of your own home is an entirely different discussion to sexual acts in public in my opinion.

It may well be the case that children witnessing sexual acts they aren't old enough to comprehend may have negative consequences. I'm not qualified enough to judge that. In theory, if what you were doing is in no way harming or inconveniencing anyone else, I don't much mind what you do. Whether this could be argued to be the case for masturbation or other sexual acts I don't know. Children would be my main concern, also public hygiene. But something as simple as very noisy sex could be considered a nuisance.
