Christianity and Masturbation

RE: Christianity and Masturbation
Puppies and sunshine? WTF is this, care bears?
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I can't remember the site off the top of my head but I have read masturbation might actually be medically "good" for you. I apologize if I am wrong... I ran across it along time ago. I also heard of a masturbation diet... sounds interesting... lol

I also don't like getting hugged.

What a sad existence you live. You come off very misanthropic.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

It may well be the case that children witnessing sexual acts they aren't old enough to comprehend may have negative consequences. I'm not qualified enough to judge that. In theory, if what you were doing is in no way harming or inconveniencing anyone else, I don't much mind what you do. Whether this could be argued to be the case for masturbation or other sexual acts I don't know. Children would be my main concern, also public hygiene. But something as simple as very noisy sex could be considered a nuisance.

Children aside, let's suppose there weren't any of those around....

If that's the case - Free porn for everyone  all the adults who watch!

Maybe we need "sex areas" like there are "smoking areas" Tongue

RE: Christianity and Masturbation
My youngest daughter just informed me last week that in health class, they are going to be talking about this sort of stuff. I am so glad I had "the talk" with her years ago.

And apparently, from what she's told me, the kids in school regularly discuss sex among their groups of friends. When I asked her exactly what they talk about she turned all red and refused to answer lol. She says "Mama - we just talk about stuff." The words 'penis' and 'vagina' are funny to sixth graders because when the teacher says those words, there are giggles in the classroom.

I'm all for proper sex education. In England we are super prudish, sex ed doesn't start until 13 and is pretty awkward. My parents taught me absolutely nothing at all about this. I was frigging hopeless and just picked up stuff very slowly from those around me, not the best way to learn. I imagine kids these days picking up their "education" from the internet. They're gonna most likely be looking at all kinds of sexual stuff online, probably from a fairly young age, so I think education at home and at school is important so they understand what they are seeing.

Our prudish nature doesn't work, we have one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in Europe I think.

I remember in grade school that jokes about sex were very popular.  I have not heard so many dirty jokes since growing up.

What was striking to me was learning in a sex education class in high school all of the misinformation people believed.  Such as, the nonsense that one could not get pregnant the first time one had sex.  I don't know why anyone would believe such a fool story, given that pregnancy has to do with a sperm cell merging with an egg cell and becoming attached to the woman (uterus, except in problem cases), but, apparently, it was a common myth that people believed.

In the U.S., some states have adopted an "abstinence only" sex education system, and those states generally (if not all) have the highest rates of teen pregnancies.

This is one of the really stupid things about some religionist conservative nut jobs.  If they don't want unwed mothers and teen pregnancy and abortions, they should favor a good sex education program, because such things are reduced by a good sex education program.  It isn't the sex education that motivates people to have sex; people have hormones for that.  One must be really stupid to not realize that sex education isn't the cause of sexual desire.

Indeed. I think a good education can make people much wiser, more careful and perhaps wait longer. When you really don't know the consequences, you're more likely to jump in feet first (!) through ignorance.
