I'm certain I do not want eternal life in the afterlife. Could you imagine all the people, possibly billions, all complaining about the late mail, poor service at the restaurant, and bring bored?

Why?  What difference does it make?  You weren't around to see what happened so far, why do you think you ought to be around to see the rest?  Move on and let others get their chance.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.
