The World of PC/Mac Gaming
April 28, 2015 at 11:09 pm
So I am curious as to if anyone here plays games on their computers. This can range from Solitaire to MMORPG's and more. This is intended for people to get a basis for what games are out there as well as who plays them.
To start, the only game I currently play online is League of Legends. I don't play it as often as I once did, but it is still a fun game (in my opinion)…even though the community is extremely toxic.
Let the discussion begin!

I like finding little gems among the Unity and Construct2 community.
Kingdom Rush (and the 2nd one)
10 bullets
10 more bullets
Rogue Legend: Tame the Wild (pretty fucking addictive for a game made in 2 months)
Soccer Physics (some silly fun if you have a kid)
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

I play older games like Super Power 2, Empire Earth, the Westwood games, etc.
I do buy some newer games my PC can't run, but each time I consider buying a new PC, some new expense gets in the way.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I'm mostly an RTS and RPG gamer. PC Exclusively. With a great big 3D CAD machine I see no reason to pony up more money for a console. Add in the lack of game modding...

You should just build one. Easy to do and you get exactly your specs for 30-50 percent less than a comparable pre-built machine.

That's been the plan for the past 4-5 years, but I bought a couple cars in between.

I currently play GW2 and The Secret World, both MMo's.
I haven't played any other types of games lately, but I enjoy all sorts. My hubby just bought GTA5 last night, and I watched himplay it for about an hour, lol. Looks fun, I'll have to try it out.

Pretty much just mindless stuff on Facebook. My favorite by far, FWIW, is Pearl's Peril.

Does anybody know of a good top-down space shooter? Like the scroll type. I played a really fun one about 5-6 years ago, that was pretty in-depth as far as upgrades and progression goes, and I'm always trying to recreate that fun. I'm not even a big fan of that genre, but I've always felt that there has to be some way to make that type of game super engrossing. Are there any cream of the crop titles that everybody know about but me?

Why top-down? Why not 3D?
To me, X2 is one of the greatest games that ever existed. I mean, you get to do a variety of missions, and you can BUILD your own space stations-- complete with algae farms, solar energy farms, weapons factories, etc. And you can fly around your station and actually see what it looks like. Oh-- and you can train a team of pirates to take over expensive warships, or attack a freighter until the captain ejects and steal it.
