I have studied the biography of all Saudis kings and prince back when i was in Saudi Arabia. I am not sure if it was a bullshit or not, but this what i was taught.

And, everyone back then acknowledged the facts. maybe i was deceived, dunno! the media like to claim "He was the first Arab and Muslim to fly in outer space"

As he states in the video, he flown on the space shuttle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB3V50WgDh0,

If the Saudis are keen to get into space they should send Sheikh Bandar al-Khaibari so he can get some fucking education.

Remember this clown from a few months back...

"A Saudi cleric has appeared in a video rejecting that Earth revolves around the sun, claiming instead that it is “stationary.” His statements have incited a fiery response on social media.

When questioned by a student about whether the Earth was stationary or moving, Sheikh Bandar al-Khaibari responded with “stationary and does not move,” Saudi-owned broadcaster Al-Arabia reported."

Mind you, I doubt he would change his mind.

It's common amongst Muslim clerics to provide with unsubstantial evidence when it comes to science...

But isn't it interesting that Arabs are finally re-catching up to the West? Recall, the Stone Age didn't end because of a lack of stone. It's good to see the Emirates preparing for the end of the oil age. That was the essence of my post. We hear so many bad things about that region so I thought I'd share some good news.

It would be interesting if it were true.  But the fact that UAE has a measly 9 million people, and only 1.4 million of these are even oil bloated citizens, the rest being foreign domestic servants, oil industry expats, and other transients unlikely to be helping with building any form of robust local high tech manufacturing and research foundation, should tell you this is a money brought publicity stunt, by no mean indicative that Arabs have caught up with modern technological reach.

You mean the "Age of Enlightenment"

Yeaa, true, true... in the past Muslims where the brilliant minds of Ancient civilization. This is what their accomplishments: They began the medical discoveries, mathematics, science, astronomy, philosophy etc... (They were more open minded back then).

UAE, are trying to rejuvenate the "Islamic Golden Age".. they have all the necessary resources they need including a strong sustainable economical power, revolutionary ideas (I mean ideas copied from the west) but only UAE are capable of implementing these ideas in the Middle East.
