People who raise children. That is probably the most incomprehensible thing in the world to me. It's more not being able to comprehend why someone would want to do it than being impressed by it though.
If everyone had my brain wiring, our species would die out in a generation.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I'm most impressed by people who devote their whole lives to an unselfish cause.

I am impressed by individuals who refuse to give up despite overwhelming odds. I have a colleague who grew up in a broken home in a crime infested neighborhood. Despite poor public schooling he knew education was key and worked hard to get in college and worked full time while in school to pay tuition. When I think of the opportunities I've squandered I am humbled when I see someone who has no opportunities given to him so he made them on his own.

I am genuinely impressed by the many intelligent people on this forum who were religious.
To invest a lot of time reading and studying the bible to come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with it all... and to change their whole approach to religion because of it...
I believe the indoctrination self reversal process is one of the hardest things to accomplish.
But for some weird reason, I am still interested in reading posts of said bible scholars who split hairs over technicalities associated with the bible.
I'm probably more interested in seeing how people apply logic to their reasoning, irrespective of subject matter.

Your theory works for me. I have no ear for the sound of language and so suck at speaking or understanding foreign languages. People who know several languages, can contrast patterns of grammar and usage and dream in varying languages blow me away.
Same goes for music. Love music but can't play anything and don't read music.
People who do what I do well .. I just get them, so no amazement.

I went to the Nutcracker back in 2011 and found myself impressed by some of the dancers. The pros, definitely, but even Clara, a teenage character. The ballerina that played her was obviously hyperfocused on every aspect of her life. Ballet, high school studies. and whatever other responsibilities she had as a person.
Me? I goofed off. I looked for shortcuts. I looked for free time. I wasn't even average, much less a ballet student for a major city's most major company.
