The last question I asked because someone once pointed out to me that I say things like "where did you get that from?" or "where are my shoes at". And I guess the last word isn't necessary, but it feels wrong not to say it.

In college it was pointed out to me that in the expression "try and ...", as in "I'll try and see what I can do", "and" didn't have any job to do.
As for the expert of this thread .. .. why do people live in Ohio? Aren't buckeyes poisonous, rendering the entire state's water supply suspect?  RE: Ask an Ohioan

No. Haha Ohio has a lot of kick ass museums and hall-of-fames that I haven't visited since, like, middle school. I need to get on that. But I think that's representative of a majority of Ohioans.
