And some of us find it funny that you consider socialism to be an antithesis of progress Of course 'socialist' regimes can easily be oppressive... but then what else would one expect from a regime? Half the time many go around spreading messages of Gods love, which doesnt seem to extend to us non-believers? To me he sounds like a total bastard! What is so hard to understand that God must punish sin? God does not want anyone (including nonbelievers) to perish. Would a "bastard" (your word, not mine) provide a way to avoid so easily this fate? That is why He sent Jesus to pay for our sins on the cross. Didn't you get spankings as a child when you did wrong? Don't we put criminals in prison?

What you are missing here, little buddy, is that we do not believe that god(s) exist in the first place. Without that belief, your anecdotal stories and circular logic will have no effect on us (other than laughter). If your goal is to show us the error of our ways, you will have to begin by showing real, empirical evidence to support the contention that god(s) exist. Until someone can do that, the rest is moot.

If he created sin and has the power to stop people from being born in the first place who will later desire it, then he should do that if he is truly 'loving'. It does not violate the 'God gave people free will' bullshit if God merely only creates people in the first place who only ('freely') desire doing good lol :p EvF (April 13, 2010 at 10:28 am)Gilligan Wrote: What is so hard to understand that God must punish sin? Okay. Please explain the "sin" committed by the babies and toddlers who were drowned in the flood of Noah. Quote: God does not want anyone (including nonbelievers) to perish. This makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever. Why would you let someone else take the punishment for YOUR wrongdoing? Quote:Didn't you get spankings as a child when you did wrong? Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Okay. Please explain the "sin" committed by the babies and toddlers who were drowned in the flood of Noah. Who would have taken care of the babies and toddlers after the adults drowned? Certainly eight people couldn't have.
