Ask an ex-Anglican

A house divided against itself cannot stand. (Mark 3:25)

Today there are a large number of Christian denominations, and between them they have some truly irreconcilable differences in religious opinion. Interestingly, sometimes a position can be proved or disproved and yet the beliefs persist unabated. Most Anglicans - at least here in Australia - believe that all Christians are united by Jesus, and that these petty differences of opinion don't matter in the long-run. In fact the Anglican church tolerates a huge amount of internal disagreement. There are ordained priests and bishops who do not believe in textual criticism, and those that do. There are those that will swear black-and-blue that Jesus was crucified on a Friday, and others that admit it could have been a Wednesday. So I'm here to answer your questions and explain some of the key differences of opinion that Anglicans hold especially when compared to the Catholic and Orthodox traditions.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

Interestingly Anglicans don't have to make that choice - they don't believe that the ordained clergy have authority to dictate something like that to them.
