Heh, look at this shmuck

Love it. Crushed.

I think you mean sorted.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I personally find the OP hilarious. I think that most atheist are generally intellectual atheist that have done research and much pondering over what they believe and ideological atheist that take a position as an ideologue rather than from their own conclusions. William lane Craigs had an interesting RF podcast this week (I am sure you all heard it) about how aggressive atheists tend to use mockery and derision rather than reasons and logic. THIS IS NOT A BLANKET STATEMENT. However, it does seem to be a favorite of many atheists.

That said, we need to be careful with how we take statements from William Lane Craig regarding reason and logic, because he uses those terms very differently from the actual dictionary definition: In fact, WLC only considers things to be a deployment of "reason" when it supports the position he already holds, and nothing else.

So when WLC says that atheists are quick to use mockery over reason, what he really means, if we are to take his stated positions at all seriously, is that atheists are quick to use mockery rather than offer arguments that support the gospel, which, I mean... yeah. Angel

It's pretty rich to see WLC chastising others for not using reason anyway, given what his position regarding reason actually is.

Seen that before. Looks a health and safety nightmare. I wonder how many fingers they lost filming that.

And did anyone else get memories of Airwolf with that music?

WLC's strategy : shitting on the plate and then complaining that we don't properly use fork and knife to eat it up.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

As an avowed apologist he considers facts, logic, rhetoric and lies as mere tools to steer every discussion to the conclusion he endorses. The buyer definitely need beware.

There are many ways to tackle the problem of religion. All of them, except violence, have their place.

Using logic and reason is probably the best method, but don't underestimate ridicule.

If you're the only 9 year old kid on the school bus that still believes in Santa, you can sure bet that you will soon be dissuaded of that believe by the relentless ridicule of the rest of the bus.

Believing the myths, magic and fairy stories of religion in the 21st century, is quickly becoming the equivalent of the 9 year old Santa believer on the bus.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
