Your dad is Ken Ham?
Welcome, young'un.

Perhaps I should clarify a couple things.
My parents may or may not be that harsh when it comes to college, it is just that my dad has hinted around about it. But even if so, I am very grateful to them because they right now are paying for me to do college classes online through my junior and senior (if all goes as planned, I will have an associates degree from Liberty University when I finish high school). Even though some things are tense regarding the issue of religion, we very rarely talk about and we all get along really well. I also have friends at church, including my youth pastor, none of whom know I am an atheist (although they probably get a little suspicious when I stop talking whenever the topic of things like homosexuality and abortion comes up). Also, I only have 4 siblings (the number 7 I wrote included me and my parents). But thank you all for your welcoming and encouragement. And I'll keep your suggestion in mind Faith No More. Nothing like pro tips from a seasoned atheist lol. ![]()

Thanks for sharing that story, I can relate to the condescending, ignorant father who can't understand what science is.
You sound like an intelligent 15 year old. Stick around here, I'm curious to see how you much you enjoy your time here. I'm sure you'd make us laugh owning some of the adults on here who still believe that god got a young virgin pregnant. Hope you have some fun on here!

It's actually like most secular biology courses, it's just that they use the word "complex" about 10 times each sentence. I have another textbook with an introduction to the school itself, and they talk a lot about the great man of God that Jerry Falwell was. They also leave out the part about him being a segregationist.
