What The Bible Really Teaches About Hell
#91
RE: What The Bible Really Teaches About Hell
What I mean about the bible is not a magic book is just because it says in it that the supernatural exists. That God exists. Doesn't mean it or he does. There is no proof in there. So if its not a "magic book" special above all other books then it certainly doesn't prove the existence of "God" or the supernatural. There is no evidence that God exists in the bible unless its a "magic book".
And of course, as you agree with me, the bible is not a magic book. But I bet you don't agree with me that the bible doesn't prove or at least give evidence for the truth of and the existence of God. But if the Bible isn't magic then how exactly does it? What evidence IS there?

Well, Darwin said we were created so it must be true.

Darwin said we were descended from a common ancestorTongue And thats actually backed up by evidenceTongue
It was really more of a theory to Darwin. But now you can get your DNA sequenced. And there are so many damn fossils its unbelievable. The evidence is huge.

Charles Darwin wrote about his "view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one."

Wow! Impressive! You were noticably abscent in the discussion me and Ace had regarding the 'evidence' you are all so fond of. He sure could of used some help from y'all.

I'm very familiar of that. That was a different version of Origin. And this is a very common thing that creationists quote to atheists. The original didn't have 'the creator' in it. It was added afterwards for the reason; - as Dawkins puts it: "presumably as a sop to the religious lobby. "
And the whole deathbed conversion of Darwin is a complete myth in case you start on thatTongue.
This is one of the reasons Dawkins says he is going to have a tape recorder at his bed when his time comes.

That is funny! I like to think of Dawkins as a sort of living Darwin. A new Darwin. TV Evangelists for the Atheist.

And Kirk Cameron once said "there is no God", and Richard Dawkins once said "I believe in God". People's views change over time. You cannot quote Darwin before he lost his faith and expect to actually make a valid point here.

Darwin was well known to have lost his Christian faith when his daughter Annie died, and he accepted a form of atheistic agnosticism. He didn't recant on his deathbed, and according to his family, he died a non-believer.

Listen to how you defend. You wouldn't hear me defending Jerry Fallwell or Pat Robertson like that.

Is it just me or have you completely missed the point that I was trying to make by responding to what you said - about you thinking that Darwin believed in a creator?

The quote I gave was from a mentor's edition of the original Origin Of Species. Charles Darwin said it himself. You say that Richard Dawkins pointed out that he tacked that on to appease the Xian and I say he was a putz if he did.

I don't care if he believed in the creator or not I only quoted it to annoy you. Tongue
