What The Bible Really Teaches About Hell

Can you show me what you say about Jesus is true? Other than what you and the bible say is true?

Nope.

Jesus was a man from a backwater town near ancient Jerusalem. One of many who made claims of being a long awaited messiah. What sort of secular historian would have found that of importance?

Ancient Hebrew chronology (family records) were kept for Hundreds of years, for among other things, the reason of marking the one man who ever lived who could have been the Messiah. Who came at the exact time prophecy foretold that he would come. The religious leaders of Jesus day were the people in charge of those records and when they were presented to the people no one questioned them because they couldn't have. They were without a doubt authentic and legal representations of Jesus as the Christ.

Two thousand years later you are discussing this with me. If you are not impressed by this then there is nothing that I can show you to change your mind. It is already convinced.

So if instead all the christians were pastafarian believers in the FSM rather the christ and they had believed it for 2000 years and people were still talking about it. Would you think the FSM exists? If everyone in the world believed in God it wouldn't be a shred of evidence that he existed. You can believe in any bullshit if its advantageous to you, etc. Belief doesn't automatically= truth.

Both of you! All religions are wrong. Every one has been wrong. I have been and will continue to be wrong. It is sort of like science. If it were all right all the time it wouldn't need to exist.

The Word of God, though, is always right. Bible translation is man's work and there are minor errors, but God's word and will has seen to it that truth as we need it is there for us if we want it.

It isn't about being right.

I no longer accept you believe that ... I believe you are a creationist, inherently Christian. I think you are just boxing clever.

It isn't about being right it is about searching for the truth. It is like science. You look for the answers and sometimes you get it wrong. You can't assume that you have it right because that prevents you from searching any further.

No religion has ever been right because it is the nature of religion to distort. Read my post on Taoism. The Jews of the Bible time didn't remain true to themselves because of religion. They ended up killing the Messiah they had waited thousands of years for. Christianity didn't get it right because they had already started distorting the true teachings for their own purpose and understanding just like the Jews and every other religion does.

Buddhism was formed to escape the metaphysical and social trappings of Hinduism and they created more instead.

It is science's turn by the way which will prove interesting. You all have already indicated that journey is well under way.

The Bible isn't a magic book, I think that is the first accurate and truthful thing I have heard you say about it, EVF.

Daystar, in the last post you said:

'It is science's turn by the way which will prove interesting. You all have already indicated that journey is well under way.'

I am really struggling to see how this is in any way the case. Many of your posts make similar remarks. Can you give me a couple of clear examples of how this is the case?
