Yes, I personally know how messed up it is.

Ok, now imagine hiding the fact that you're gay for most of your life from family and friends, living a lie for years on end in the fear that you will be ostracised for your sexual orientation. Coming out is only the first step, you're still gonna be messed up from having that guilt, fear or shame hanging over your developing years. That is the core reason why gay people are more prone to depression.
There we are.

Irrelevant. Nobody is telling black kids they can pray their skin tone away. There are no conversion therapies for black people.

But nobody is saying they are demon possessed and need an exorcism to stop being black.

Yes. And christians say homosexuals are going against god's will.

Again. Two different minorities. Not the same issues. Not the same psychological effect.

It would be much easier if you just said what your point is, because I'm lost. We've pointed out to you why there is a correlation between homosexuality and mood&anxiety disorders. Even your source says that. What is your point?

Are you saying anti-gay hate is worse than racism hate? I'm honestly not sure which is more of a problem in the US.

Just looked it up. https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2014/de...t-released

20.8% of hate crimes in US are sexual orientation related. Plus .5% gender identity.

48.5% are racial related. Plus another 11.1% related to ethnicity.

If the numbers of children and young adults beaten (even killed, like the toddler beaten to death for "acting like a girl" a few years ago) and made homeless by their own families were included in those hate crime statistics, they would be very different. Including all applicable child-on-child physical assaults in hate crime statistics (the vast majority never get reported as such) would also dramatically change the ratios.

The disproportionality of gay youth homelessness in the USA dwarfs the disproportionality of black youth homelessness in the USA, and that's because black people have the advantage of not being raised in families that hate them for being (or even "seeming") black.

It's likely that most hate crime victims - be it racist, homophobic or other - are children and teenagers, but they're usually left out because the incidents are frequently unreported to any authority, let alone the police, and when they are reported they're more often listed as child abuse, child abandonment, endangerment, assault etc. without also being classed as hate crimes. Gay hate crimes are by far the most under-estimated as a result of this bias, because more than any other demographic, among gay people it's the children and teens who suffer the highest rate of hate crime and other discrimination.
"Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is like when you trust yourself to the water. You don't grab hold of the water when you swim, because if you do you will become stiff and tight in the water, and sink. You have to relax, and the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging, and holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be."

And that there is where I'd think the mental issues come in.
Having to lie to everyone around you. (Keeping lies straight *pun slightly intended* consumes a lot of mental energy.)
Having to deny doing things you like, or going to places you want, or acting a certain way..... these things take a toll on your mental outlook and state.

Not to mention - it's frequently not true! For example, no one on Earth has ever worked harder to hide that they're gay than pray-the-gay-away proponent Marcus Bachmann, and how has that worked out for him? Big Grin

Points for effort, Marcus.

Mental disorders often develop from one another, if you've already got one severe one why should it be any great surprise you may have several others?

I did read it, you are all simply wrong.

The fact that they feel negative feelings for their actions and thoughts is good, their concience is pointing them to the immorality of their actions and the shame is a gentle push to the repentance that is required.

Sometimes the truth is an uncomfortable thing, there is a reason historically societies have feared and driven the "homosexuals" away from them.

I say homosexual, but the very notion of sexual orientation is more quack science invented to promote a liberal agenda.

You wrote it, so by default of course you read it.

You wrote it, so by "you all" you are implying that you are wrong.
